Nano Technology

Our support activities for our nano technology customers within the last couple of years have included evaluation of properties for new facility siting, analysis of bulk chemical storage requirements, including pyrophoric gases, and analysis of code requirements and consensus standards for operations involving pyrophoric materials.

We have performed numerous Process Hazard Analyses, redesigned reactors and prescribed deflagration controls, and provided structural and seismic bracing calculations. Our hazard evaluation for one customer included chemical staging and preparation, chemical mixing and dispensing, substrate chemical application and curing, fume scrubber evaluation, and process upsets and recovery procedures.

Our support has included acquisition of BAAQMD permits, wastewater discharge permits, submission of Biennial Reports and completion of compliance audits. Our worker safety support has included chemical hygiene programs, emergency response,  and design improvements to waste collection systems to reduce worker exposure to combustible dust and waste metal scraps.
